Summer Edition ‘012 Day 38 4th of September: No Title

When I woke up my foot was worse than the day before- great!!!

I think I walked too much but still there’s so much to see! Classical dilemma! (At this point of my voyage I didn’t know my foot was broken… I found afterwards in Germany!)

Went straight to Picadilly Circus to buy a ticket for “We Will Rock You”- which was a great decision! I went to Notting Hill to finally see the Portobello Road Market! Beautiful I can tell, bought a “Notting Hill Shopping Bag”, the design of Natalie Imbruglia (there are several designs), bought at a 1 pound shop a film roll!!! & I found some original Banksys!!! Whoohoo! Found a famous one which is already protected & a new one- still I am not 100% sure if it is a Banksy grafitty or not. (Edit: It wasn’t) I was proud finding something on my own without the help of a smartphone or other devices!

I waited for Sharif but when he didn’t show up after 2 hours of waiting ( I am good at waiting but enough is enough :D)  I left for Camden Town. I liked it but when I went to Camden Lock Market on the ground I really felt uncomfortable, you know. My issue. And I just needed and wanted to leave and so I did. Glad, Sharif showed up not long after that.

there was one too… :(

Then we went “Banksy Hunting” together, which was really fun! Some we found, some were already gone. Sharif took me to Brick Lane, Beigel Bake where we had delicious pieces of cheese cake, which he gave to me. It was four pieces and he was like “Ms. Church, you eat all of them…” He is a little crazy, you know… Four pieces for me? I don’t think about that too long!!! ;) (He took 1 piece at least).

Unfortunately we didn’t have so much time for I had to be at the Dominion Theatre around 7 o’clock to pick up my ticket.
I enjoyed “We Will Rock You” so much!!! It wasn’t sold out so I could get an even better place I had before (and this one was good as well, and cheap!) So I had a great seat in the stalls of only 40 pounds! I really liked the show but I already told you that I guess =)

I went to New Oxford Street to see one more Banksy & went home.

my favorite one!!!

at night at Picadilly

The movie “Anna Karenina” (by Tolstoj) had it’s premiere at the Odeon Cinema & when I went there after the show everything was gone already, no Jude, no Keira, too bad :P But I had a nice day though!

Summer Edition ’012 Day 19, 16th of August: Surprise

That was actually pretty strange: all of the time I was like: Oh My God, the 1 year anniversary  ith NY is coing up. On the 14th when I had it, not with Manhatten but Queens and Brooklyn, I forgot about it completely! And now I just recognized that!

Is it strange, even though  my mother togue is german I am blogging & writing diary in english? Not talking about my songs as well?! Maybe it is a save-mechanism but also because I love, L.O.V.E. the english  language and still training, rehearsing and learning of course! At home beside my bed lies the 2 kg heavy Oxford Advcnced Learner`s Dictionary…

But as an artist I can write howeverthefuck I want to & believe in =) My luck, I don’t have to write serious papers anymore!!!

So… Torsdåg (thursday) Peter wrote me to meet up at T-Centralen around high noon what I didn’t know: He didn’t tell the others so it was kind of a surprise for them (not for Sarah for she figured that out actually ;) ) So I spent my day with the 5 of them.

We were hanging around Stockholm’s Kulturfestivalen like on every stage and area, or at least almost.

When we got pretty hungry we were searching for a place to eat, went to Mariatorget to find something when suddenly it began to pour like cats & dogs! (14th street is gonna drown…) So we got into the “rainpub”, a pub you probably just get into when it is raining like that! Someone should call a pub like that! But we kinda had something to eat there! Don’t ask, wasn’t that good anyhow.

So we seperated and wanted to meet again at 6pm at a stage “Brunkebergstorg”. In the meantime I visited the Kulturhuset to find that I can play Keyboards there to practice at least the piano a little bit! The top of the building is worth going up! Nice cafe with flowers and bees!

I told you. Beekeeping

some arts inside

So at the Brunkersbergtorg we saw Lena Swanberg in the beginning I was talking to her afterwards (business of course!) Linneá Olsson who was all alone playing cello over a looper was the 2nd act in the evening. She inspired me & motivated me very much!!!

saw Linnea just walking to her gig

And finally we saw Ola Salo in the ending! He was sining with the swedish radio sinfoniorchestra which was very great! And he is playing Jesus in Jeses Christ Superstar in Stockholm.

The Festivalveack is completely for free and on sunday there will be a huge book flea market which I won’t miss of course!!!

Summer Edition ’012 Day 13, 10th of August: Hi-Fi

Today was the last day at school. I am very glad for I was beginning to become very tired, not tired of the course, just tired. I was not really able to do something in the evening because I was so tired this week.

the pattern

finished origami

We were giving Mr. Kondo a gift for his unborn child, a baby-onezi and a wooden toy. He was very glad for nthe gift. He was such a great teacher at draping, he has a great personality and is so funny, nice and good at what he is doing. If you ever have the chance to take a course with him, do so! You will learn a lot!!! Not only origami :)

In the ending of the school day we were preparing our dolls with our work of the last 2 weeks for tomorrows presentation at our school. My friends will come and my aunt who’s living near Hamburg.

Seriously… I don’t want to leave. (This is something I am gonna say more and more times the following weeks). I like it here, especially the river & the haven! It is so beautiful andthere  different kind of people as in the rest of Nothern Germany. They are so nice & open minded =)

When I finished my doll, I was draping a top with flattering “sleeves”, the Möbiusband Scarf & the skirt with drapings on the left side.

After that I met up with lisa for dinner at Altona’s “Reise Bar Cafe”- and please: DON’T GO THERE! Seriously! The food was ok but instead of basil pesto I got a cheese sauce with herbs… And I am sure they didn’t confuse something because this dish was not even on the menu. We met up because I went to the theatre she is working at to see “High Fidelity”, the Nick Hornby novel as a musical.

The first part was ok, but the 2nd part was quite good and fun! I really enjoyed it! And I am recommending it to those whoi liked the novel & the movie as well! (But I am not sure, if it is still on…. so check Altonaer Theater

In the ending we had a small Odyssee goign back home =)

See you
