I know our story sounds quite made up & unbelieveable, lucky I have at least Lisa and Maria who believe me because they had the same experiences =)

Counting down from 10

DSC_1148 DSC_1147

Somewhere here lived our Couchsurfing Host

We were so happy to leave the hostel and our 10-bed-dorm for every night we woke up because of drunk young people who were very loud… (When I am sick I can be pretty pissy because of that…)
We had breakfast, packed our stuff & checked out. We would meet Fred in front of Queens Square Information, where is a huge compass on the ground, we counted down from 10 to 0 and- Fred was there (number 1), we took a bus to his place, a house more like a museum than anything else, but great stuff, I like the pictures, sculptures, music instruments and so on!

The room we slept in was very cosy, under the roof, the room of his flatmate Louise, too bad we didn’t meet her! We got rid of our stuff & got back to the city. We wanted to take the Mersey Ferry so we went to the Docks. On the way we found a small artists- flea- market which was so beautiful. Mary & me bought each a pair of beautiful earrings! I got grey-blue chrysamthemes. The sun was shining & we were so happy that we were still there in Liverpool!

DSC_1153

Everywhere around the town are these pianos and everyone can play on it. And this stylish old man was just playing freaking hell great!!!

DSC_1155

This red-hair was good as well :)

DSC_1176 DSC_1184 DSC_1193 DSC_1195

I could walk properly =) (With the anti-pain-pills)

We didn’t take the ferry for it was more expensive on the weekend than during the week! 8 pounds each… ok for 50 minutes, but still too much for us. We walked up to the Liverpool Cathedral which was a great choice! Beautiful windows & we heard a rehearsal of the cathedral choir which was angellike, I almost cried, so beautiful!!! (Although I don’t give a damn about religious stuff, this was just mindblowing!)

DSC_1208 DSC_1221 DSC_1238 DSC_1241 DSC_1242 DSC_1243 DSC_1245 DSC_1249

We took some photos at Hope Street (the suitcases from LIPA) and walked down Bold Street, but before that we found a great vintage shop, where our “Kaufrausch” began, Lisa bought herself a cool top & I got to know Libby, a costume designer working at a theatre!!! Unbelieveable… We are in contact now and who knows what happens next =) She has a great style, she also told us to call her in the evening, she could show us around (unfortunately she didn’t have time when I texted her).

DSC_1257 DSC_1261 DSC_1272 DSC_1284 DSC_1299 DSC_1304

So we went down Bold Street and into many retro/ 2nd hand stores =)

We went back to Fred’s place to bake a chocolate fudge cake & “poor knight” for dinner for us. In the evening we went allttogether to MelloMello & joined a concert of 3 bands for 4 pounds! (actually 4 bands but we missed the 1st). I enjoyed the 2nd band most, the sounded a little bit like Calexico. And there we met 2 austrian girls, Doris & Michi, who were also staying at “Hatters” and they were also there at my accident- funny coincidence again.

Lisa, Maria and Fred in a cab

So we went home by taxi for there are no buses to VFred’s home after 11pm (can you believe that, in a city like LVRPL???) and went straight to sleep. Besides the 2 times- singing at “Hatters” in my sleep I shouted this time =) Poor Lisa & Mary :P

Summer Edition ‘012 Day 34, 31st of August: Magical Mystery Tour

liverpool_header

So when I got up my foot was swollen pretty much, it scared me a little bit. I took a shower & had a long breakfast with Lisa & Maria. Maria still didn’t feel so well but we tried to cheer her up a little bit.

DSC_1046 DSC_1051 DSC_1052 DSC_1062

So around half ten we went to the Albert Docks to join the Magical Mystery Tour for 15,95 pounds. It was a tourists bus tour which took us to almost every important place which has something to do with the Fab 4. It was sooooo great especially the stories the guide told us what had happened on some other tours. We took many photos of the houses they were born or lived in, Penny Lane of course, Strawberry Fields, the suitcases in front of the LIPA… It was great. A woman on the tour bgean talking to me that I would just look like her own daughter which scared her in the first place. For she is coming from America =)

We had big fun, ended the tour with buying stuff fur us and our parents, bought myself a t-shirt, my dad as well, my mother got a Beatles bag.

So we were so exhausted by the tour we just went back to the hostel and slept around one hour, before that we had dinner (notice: in the afternoon!)

Everyone in the hostel who knew about the accident asked me how I felt and how my foot is. That was so nice and I told them about the hospital and the stuff…

DSC_1124

So we were also thinking about to stay one more night so we asked the hostel if we could- we could but we had to pay instead of 18 pounds 28 pounds!!! So… What to do??? Couchsurfing!!! I totally forgot I had an open request still to all couchsrufing hosts in Liverpool and some people actually responded which I didn’t know until then.

One of them, Fred, also send his mobile number so I could text him directly and I asked if Lisa & Mary could also stay at his place. Beforehand they already asked him to stay at his place but he refused, which is still strange to us, for he had space… But otherwise we would not have met! Whatever…

He asked how I knewn the two and if I trust them with my life & his house… But after a short call he told us he let us stay at his place for one night! Another girl from Germany, Chrissy from Göppingen, also stayed there at the moment.

Still we couldn’t believe our luck. Just grap the luck while it is there., you never know when the leaf is about to turn. It might be gone by tomorrow. And all because of the accident! We took a short walk outside in a very english summer rain.

I am wearing my flip flops theses days for it hurts too much to get into my vans. After the walk through small China Town, the LIPA aso. we wrote into our diaries (funny how many people do write!) and then we went to bed.

Summer Edition ‘012 Day 33, 30th of August: Glück im Unglück Nummer 1

liverpool_header
Bald würde ich mich schon von Anna & Dori verabschieden, doch erst frühstücken wir Ihre Reste und ich brachte beide zum Busbahnhof → why I just wrote german I can’t actually tell you =) Maybe because I am still confused and shocked of the day…

DSC_0850

We are!

DSC_0861 DSC_0875

Yes, sometimes.

READ!

DSC_0884

Attention: Very long text!!! Enjoy :)

Soon I would say goodbye to Anna and Dori but first we had breakfast & then we took a bus to the busstation. We said our goodbyes and hopefully we meet again in London.

I went to a Hostel to book a room/bed for 2 nights (38.50 pounds) and got rid of my stuff to walk a little bit through the city. I walked near Liverpool Cathedral, LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts- formed by Sir Paul McCartney), the beautiful Docks, passed by some museums and at one there was a piano outside the door, everyone is allowed to play.

I am flying…

DSC_0920

I sat down and played finally on a real piano since I left my hometown! It was tuned and felt so great! I played some exercised, some melodies, Kate Nash, Regina Spektor, Muse, Imagine by John Lennon, Slut… The stuff I am like always playing.

Another Grafton Street

I went back to the city to get lost a little bit, had a box of chips, ate at St. John’s Park. It passed 3 o’clock and I wanted to get to Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields but first I wanted to put my stuff into my room in the hostel. So did I, at the room I met two german girls, Maria & Lisa with whom I exchanged numbers instantly to do something in the evening, hopefully an open stage. I packed my totebag to get downstairs to the internet room to check the Penny Lane area firrst. Then…

DSC_1011 DSC_1016 DSC_1027

the last piucture before…

IT HAPPENED… (I guess all of you already know the story but now you can finally read what happened…)

I stumbled on the first step of the stairs, tried to catch myself by speeing up & at the last step I fell and hurt my left foot, like very, very much! I felt I couldn’t get up, began to cry and shouted for “Help!“ (no fun… no Beatles quotation). So many people came to help me, calm down & call an ambulance for it hurt like hell!

The hostel manager was sitting next to me & many ohter people when i suddenly noticed two familiar german voices talking. It were Lisa & Maria and I told them I was lying there and they came immidiately. And the most crazy thing: they came with me to the hospital!!!

DSC_1028 DSC_1031 DSC_1033

Everything was like a blur. I don’t know who was there at the stairs but I know like so many were there… When the ambulance came they asked me about the accident and I told my story but began to feel sick… I had to got upstairs… They didn’t carry me upstairs, I had to jump on my own, which seemed to impress them because I was doing a great job on that, I think this was just my shock- reaction still. Adrenaline you know. At the ambulance Lisa & Maria brought me a hospital-kit the got from the manager. It was a magazine, a chocolate bar, bottle of water and an umbrella :D We three and the two men of the ambulance were laughing a lot and began taking photos… I got some gas to kill my pain- laughing gas which made me dizzy so quickly but it didn’t help so much so I stopped taking it. But still it was funny. Befor I got in the ambulance I was in a wheel-chair for the very first time in life in serious way. The ambulance people were dressed in darrk green jumpers, almost like the old german policemen uniform.

DSC_1035

DSC_1034

In the hospital we waited for almost 4 hours. Still we had fun. We met a boy, Jamie, who just had the same injury like me- splained left foot! It was actually his birthday and he, without talking to us in the first place or even got to know us, invited us to his birthday on the „Black Diamond“, a ship that was just in the Albert Docks, where I have been in the morning. We think he mibght had a theme party „bad taste“, because Jamie wore a lilac onezie with a lilac shirt and flip flops. The girl with him, Holly, took a photo of the 4 of us and probably posted it on facebook.

An old male nurse was very angry with us for we were making fun all time long… Whatever- I had the big pain, not he! We got free tea/ coffee by anothewr nurse which made us very happy!

Finally I got to a doctor who checked my foot by feeling & pressing it first. When she told me to try walking and I put some weight on my left foot I began to cry because of the pain. So she sent me with crooches to the x-ray. Some hours (not really, but it felt so long) I got to the same doctor & she told me I had a splain, my foot wasn’t broken. Lucky me!!! (hahaha, I should have know better!) I got a compression stocking & pain killers, she took the crooches away from me & I had to walk on my own if it wasn’t for Lisa & Maria still, who waited all the time with me!!! What did the man in the ambulance say? „Tomorrow you’ll be best friends.“ Sort of, yes =)

DSC_1041
“Ok, this may sound crazy, but I have to take a photo of this door right now…” (Walking back from the hospital to the hostel…)

I am very glad I met them, the time a t the hospital besides the strange & bloody persons who were there was actually fun. We walked back to the Hostel & cooked gnocchi & spaghetti with tomato sauce & mozzarella. I had such a huge hunger I had a big portion, Lisa as well, but suddenly Maria didn’t feel so well anymore :( We went to bed pretty early for all of us were so exhausted by this crazy day. I listened to Hape Kerkeling again, fell asleep & Maria told me in the morning I was singing in my sleep :D

Good night
