after this bar we went to a “Shisha” place to smoke some water pipes and drink Becks :) Getting prepared for Germany.

One last anecdote: After our long night, after saying goodbye to everybody I wanted to say goodybe to New York… I went via Subway to Grand Central Terminal to see the hall empty without people, but!!!

It was closed! I coulnd’t go through the subway exit to GCT so I went to the street to take the main entry, but!!! It was closed!!! GCT closed from 2am till 5.30 (!!!) Finally I found a public place in the City That Never Sleeps which actually sleeps!

I was so upset, for I really wanted to see the hall again, but actually this is a much better story than showing you the empty hall of Grand Central Terminal I think :)

NY Day 08: August 21st 2011

All of us wanted to meet in front of a Gospel Church in Harlem, but onnly me & Jenny showed up, we didn’t attend the service because there was a huge line to get in (I hate the lines here!).

So Jenny and me, it was raining again, went to Union Square to get straight to Dos Toros Taqueria to eat some Quessedillas with cheeeeeeeeeeese :) It’s at the 4th Ave & 13th Street! Pretty good and nice guys who work there.

After that I went to the MET with Francesco, we only payed $1, but also only saw maybe 1 section of this big museum!!! (You always have to pay what you want, it’s donation and the prices showed at the ticket boxes are only suggestions! Just ask if it’s donations, then you can pay whatever you like to!)

What do you notice?
The painting (I think it’s oil…) is in black and white… Uncommon for this time!

After that I walked through Central Park, saw the Alice in Wonderland statue and walked through the rain again… Apple Store (awful- so many people!) and some other shops I went to, but as you know me, I hate “shopping”, I love more the old used stuff in 2nd hand shops or New Yorks architecture…

Photo Challenge Day 21: Pretty Pattern

Today I was in the MET, not the big Opera House, the museum.

IMPORTANT: You don’t need to pay the whole 20$, most of the people don’t know, that this is only kind of a suggestion, what you might pay (I mean it is an amount of arts and stuff in it, so it makes sense BUT… you don’t make it in 1 or even 2 days, you need lots of time and nerves!!!) So… the thing is… It is always donation… You are the one deciding how much you pay, so we payed 1$ to get into the MET… great, ha? And it’s the same with the Natural History Museum on the other side of Central Park, I will visit this or next week.

The first room we visited was kind of Asien/African (I have no idea what it really was) cultural arts…

Because we were very late we only got to see a little little little bit of the museum, so the 1$ was seriously ok :)
